… and even stranger company.

While the world watches the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine, a curious gathering took place in Marrakesh. Tamara Tansykkuzhina—an active member of Putin’s “United Russia” and a vocal supporter of the invasion—was seen enjoying the company of officials from Italy, the Netherlands, Estonia, France, and Poland (Richard has dual nationality).
It begs a few questions:
What is the “common ground” here? Are they discussing the “brilliant moves” behind the destruction of Kharkiv—a city that was home to so many legendary players?

A “happy” negotiation? Mr. Maggi (a former Estonian government member), if you are “negotiating,” do the smiles and joyful photos really need to be part of the protocol?
What about the rules? Most federations have the decency to exclude those who actively fuel/support the war machine. In fact, Tansykkuzhina remains officially disqualified by the FMJD for her stance. Did everyone just… forget?
Next, will we see the children of Putin’s political elite competing against Ukrainian orphans who were forced to flee their homes?
Disregard for sanctions is one thing, but the lack of basic moral sensitivity is quite another.
