For 27 years, the beginning of August has meant the European Youth Championships. This year was no different. It’s a celebration for young draughts players, but also for all of us, as we watch the next generation grow.
What caught my attention was Poland’s 10th gold medal (congratulations to Wojtek Mroczek!), but also the very first gold for Estonia! The tournament in Tallinn was also exceptional for the Italians. Over all these years, they had won just a single silver medal, and this year they tripled that tally! Perhaps next year we’ll hear the Italian anthem?
I have prepared a few summaries. The first contains various statistics and a list of participants by country. The second document lists all participants along with their final placements over the years.
